🔗 Share this article Vinted Shoppers Share Anger Over Sizing Changes Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to items being listed as the wrong size. The second-hand shopping app has altered its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel without notifying every member regarding the update. Digital Channels Backlash Many shoppers and sellers are posting online saying Vinted listings now show a different size category versus the original listing because of the remapping. The company said the new system was more in line with other platforms. It has advised users to review their products and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction. Size Classification Modifications Previously, the measurements included one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - like an L measurement used to be a 12 but is now a UK 16-18. User Experiences Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. A different member, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded with size 14 tags were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she stated. Necessary Adjustments A different user, located in England, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the measurements for "each individual item". "This situation is especially annoying, since I have chronic health issues and platform income has been essential following partial earnings loss," she said. Service Background The app has more than 100 million members, comprising 18 million UK members. It has proved a popular alternative compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
